Inventory Control Manager

Description :

Reporting the Director of Inventory Management, the ideal candidate for this position is a detail oriented individual who can analyze warehouse and distribution processes to identify problems and provide solutions to improve efficiency and inventory accuracy. The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for maintaining a daily cycle count program along with engineering related activities including slotting and overstock location. The Inventory Control Manager will communicate and work closely with all departments to ensure a smooth flow of inventory through the warehouse and distribution network, supported by timely and accurate system transactions, to ensure accurate perpetual inventory records.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of 3-5 direct cycle counters and inventory analysts
  • Coordinate and monitor a daily cycle count program for the hub warehouse and related cross-docks
  • Monitor transactional activity and perform research and reconciliations to correct imbalances and prevent order denials
  • Maintain records and reporting metrics for cycle count activity
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize cost effectiveness
  • Work with Distribution Management team to conduct audits and ensure accuracy of inventory records, including receiving, pick/pack, and cycle count activities
  • Ensure compliance with standard processes and methodology for all inventory related activity within the warehouse and cross-docks
  • Monitor inventory turns, backorders, overstocks, and service levels for the hub
  • Provide assistance to warehouse operations as needed, including pick/pack activities, location replenishment, and machine operation (fork-lifts, etc.)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or Business
  • APICS CPIM certification strongly desired
  • 4-7 years inventory control or materials management experience
  • Demonstrated command of Inventory Control concepts and practices
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Computer literate with proven experience using systems that support inventory management, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
  • Ability to operate fork-lift and other material handling equipment (training will be provided as necessary
  • Availability for occasional 2 nd and 3 rd shift work as necessary
