Inventory Control Manager
Job Overview
The inventory control manager will manage the receipt of merchandise shipments and stock levels. This position is responsible for promoting and executing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service and a friendly atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities
Enforce store receiving protocols; follow security procedures and control the flow of vendor traffic through the backroom receiving doors during appropriate operating hours.
Manage DSD operations; ensure proper receipt and inspection of merchandise, review weekly purchase reports and adjustments, control inventory levels, oversee pickup of excess goods and conduct periodic inspections to ensure proper storage.
Process damaged and spoiled products according to company policy; oversee department managers in controlling the level of unsaleable goods.
Responsible for financial accuracy of all invoices; verify information, process documentation and secure information in a designated area.
Place/return merchandise in applicable backroom, storage and work load areas.
Communicate vendor issues promptly to the store manager.
Assist department managers in managing target inventory levels and balancing the weekly purchase summaries; maintain records of inventory, invoices, etc., for all departments.
Inspect backrooms, coolers and freezers for proper rotation, merchandising conditions and sanitation; work with department managers to ensure proper conditions are maintained.
Supervise, train and develop team members in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained.
Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
Responsible for scheduling department employees.
Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Meet legal and company policy required age to perform job functions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully complete inventory control manager training and/or certification.
Compliance with all Winn-Dixie policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous assistant manager experience.
Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department.
Strong guest service skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
