Inventory Control Supervisor

is responsible for the coordination and management of all inventory control functions including conducting daily cycle counts and book-to-book comparison between the client’s and NFI Distribution Center’s WMS.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Maintains and updates inventory records
  • Creates efficient and accurate inventory management procedures
  • Performs all daily activities necessary to maintain effective inventory management procedures
  • Reconciles inventories to book records and make adjustments when necessary
  • Coordinates the annual physical inventory procedures
  • Administers loss prevention program
  • Recommends programs to improve the management of inventory
  • Supervises the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reporting
  • Conduct search to locate products within the system, as necessary
  • Adjust records when there are discrepancies between actual product and records
  • Ensures corrective measures to prevent discrepancies
  • Performs weekly cycle counts and adjusts systems as necessary
  • Develops a program to maintain tight security over the inventory
  • Maintains accurate inventory records to help facilities shortage detection
  • Maintains confidentiality of inventory records to authorized personnel
  • Communicates and coordinates with customers regarding timing of physical inventories
  • Coordinates with Customer Service Representatives, Supervisors, and Warehouse Supervisors to establish cut-off dates
  • Develop all necessary reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory counts including records of all audits, counts and adjustments
  • Complete and issue all necessary records and reports including filing invoices and maintaining customer records in a timely and accurate fashion
  • The individual needs to be trained to work in the cribs as a back-up, and be trained and certified in crane, fork lift, and movement of dollies.
  • Work on the system generated “Shortage Report” to investigate where material is at.
  • Ability to be able to work all hours, holidays, and weekends.
  • Understand the requirements of Vought in regards to their expectations related to controlling the inventory
  • Implement sound housekeeping practices (5S) and lean initiatives
  • Ability to effectively follow project events and dates.
  • Develop a reporting document so they are able to communicate to NFI Management on the 1 st shift. Document would contain:
    • Accomplishments by the individual for that shift.
    • Issues that have arose during the shift.
    • Any employee issues that need to be addressed due to improper inventory related transactions.
  • Performs duties as instructed by management

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in similar inventory managerial position
  • Performs duties as instructed by management
  • Computer Literate
  • Self-Starter and self Motivated that needs little or no supervision
  • Ability to count, use a calculator, and analyze information
  • Ability to meet goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Computer applications experience using MS Office
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and potentially holidays as needed by the customer
