The successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in business and at least 3 years experience in inventory management.

Your Role Description:
Run a world class Inventory Control Department that is composed of the most talented staff and consultants in their field. We want to be designated the “Best in the Business”
Recruit, test, and hire inventory control clerks per company procedures
Prepare action plans and clear individual job role responsibilities for each member of the inventory department including expectations and deadlines and include objective systems to measure performance and to insure our overall inventory management objectives are met.
Establish an immediate baseline/benchmark of where we are now and also establish sub benchmarks in subsets of metrics with priorities that create stable processes and systems that can be built upon. Establishing a consistent strategy and hitting goals is a key strategy for long term growth. Maintaining focus on agreed inventory priorities is crucial and new projects must only be taken on if there is consensus with the CEO that these efforts will have a higher ROI and be a better use of the finite team’s time vs. existing plan.
Manage several thousand SKU’s in multiple warehouse locations in specific bin locations in Netsuite
Create purchase orders for incoming inventory using Netsuite within 24 hours of arrival for approval by purchasing manager in order to issue payment.
Manage aging of inventory. Company goal is to not hold inventory for more than 90 days. Detailed reports must be presented to management on an ongoing basis to insure sales and marketing strategies are in place to meet this goal.
Insure all inbound inventory is sku’d with a price tag attached to each item
Insure that all items are put in inventory in Netsuite in such a way that they can be displayed on our website automatically with a professional consistent look
Manage all detailed item descriptions and inventory SKU’s proper counts and bin locations. Inventory adjustments and bin transfer verification must be done daily. Cycle counts are the most efficient and correct tool to track all inventory counts, verifying that all items are in correct bin locations
Run a series of inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform detailed analysis of item performance
Aging inventory report will track the inventory by date of when it was created, and purchase and selling price. This report must be checked daily. The aging inventory report also identifies items that have high and low priority.
Identify items that have high and low volume inventory turnover and assist in developing actions to meet inventory targets
Perform inventory and price adjustments in accordance with the aging report. Using this report will determine all items that are 90 days or older, or an item with a quantity of 25 or more.
Investigate any missing or damaged inventory and resolve the issue. If it is a major issue, report it the proper chain of command.
Study and standardize procedures to move and control inventory counts, such as cycle counts. This will give us the ability to find and fix any deficiencies with on hand inventory.
Process documents to update and maintain files and records
When doing cycle counts all aisles MUST be kept clear with enough room to pass through in case of emergency. Proper safe procedures must be used at all times.

Continually keep up to date on available inventory systems that could allow us to operate more efficiently and would integrate with Netsuite
Be fanatical about understanding all of the complexities of Netsuite as it pertains to inventory management and insure that we are utilizing all of its capabilities to better run our inventory department.
Be the in-house “expert” and executor regarding any and all significant inventory management initiatives.
Establish measurable key indicators and goals for all inventory initiatives with a projected ROI and incorporate into the inventory plan.
Be extremely knowledgeable of our company website and insure that all products presented are done so professionally and in a consistent format.
Set examples for inventory associates in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational skills, and work habits.
Conducts regular coaching and counseling with inventory team to build motivation and skills.
Lead in the creation of a culture in which there are only two categories: those who serve the customers directly and those who serve those who are serving the customer

Develop all of those under your supervision so that there is at least one person who is able to take over your role down the road and others that can run sub departments
Develop and keep up to date an organization chart for your department. This should include all consultants working with us.

Financial oversight of Inventory Department
An annual detailed formal inventory budget must be developed by you and approved by the CEO. It should set the strategy, plan the attack and have specific tactics and steps for execution with deadlines, costs, and short and long term goals. This plan will be updated quarterly as an ongoing internal, business development process.
Create New Ideas (goal: 6 -12 core strategies per year that can be consistently delivered regardless of new projects)
All hours and or fees logged by outside consultants/vendors/contractors must be assigned to an approved sales sub category. Payment will not be made without it.
Consultants/vendors/contractors productivity must be closely managed and their role must be clearly defined with specific goals and deadlines. A detailed tracking report of their progress must be provided to the CEO on a regular basis.
Consultants/vendors/contractors must be first class, efficient and able to mobilize and turn on a dime as necessary as our operation is much like a trading company with new opportunities arising daily.
You will be expected to provide a brief daily executive summary of inventory department initiatives and be able to speak to all significant developments at daily 9am meetings.
You are expected to track each staff member’s progress in the inventory control department, provide constant input to them, and do a written performance review of each staff member at least annually.
All outside expenditures by you or your staff must be approved by CEO or will not be reimbursed. Use of company credit cards can only be used with the advanced approval of each transaction with the CEO unless a formal written budget has been approved for the department of project.
Source required inventory tools as cost effectively as possible. Provide at least 3 bids whenever possible.
Scheduling, mentoring and discipline of of all members of Inventory Department.
Cross training of staff members at all times whenever possible to give us the ability to take on varied projects
No overtime will be approved for hourly staff without CEO approval
All staff not following company procedure and employee handbook must be written up with a letter to their file located in accounting department
Participate in the writing of job roles/offer letters of all new hires in the Inventory department
Organization of Inventory Department
You are in charge of keeping the inventory department area safe, clean and looking professional at all times
Management of temp hires for the Inventory Department.
Hiring of temporary employees on an as needed basis through our established temp agencies after approval from CEO in each case after first attempting to reassign available employees in house, if qualified or trainable.
Ensure that they follow all company policy and procedures applicable to them
Daily Communication from the Inventory Department via email to all other managers
In addition to attending all daily 9am staff meetings when you are in the office and tying in by phone when you are out of the office, you are expected to send out an End Of Day report email. This is an email sent to all managers in the company at the end of each workday reflecting each inventory initiative status, plan for at least the following 7 calendar days, and stating any bottlenecks preventing you from performing your role to our standards
