POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The main function of an Inventory Manager in the Service Prats Organization is to be familiar with and have the ability to manage both staff and activity associated with their area of responsibility. This role is mainly responsible for managing the daily operations in Field Logistics and Inventory Controls. This person manages, controls and directs the processes and activities associated with the specific areas of service parts logistics. The direction and management of employees to accomplish daily financial and operational objectives is required. This includes prioritizing, outlining, communicating, and instructing employees in the practices and procedures necessary to achieve objectives. Must achieve manpower, quality accuracy, customer satisfaction, and profit and loss objectives while controlling operating expenses. The Inventory Manager will directly interface with the senior management both within and outside of their respective areas to ensure a high level of service parts logistics support. DIMENSIONS Subordinates: Inventory Manager will manage a varied number of employees at differing levels, based on their realm of responsibility. This will vary from the lowest level with 7 to 30 employees. NATURE AND SCOPE Manages personnel (exempt, non-exempt, and contractors) and other resources in all activities associated with the area of responsibility. Supervises the implementation of Service Parts logistics programs, processes, and initiatives that impact financial, operational, and service level results. Develops and communicates programs, processes, and policies that promote cooperation between different areas of the organization. Where objectives are not being met, must identify deficiencies, participate in, and develop action plans to address and resolve those deficiencies. Provide guidance that facilitates the efficient operation of all activities to ensure objectives are met in accordance with management directives. Performs various supervisory duties that include: hiring, training, and administering performance appraisals Through effective organization and resource utilization, manage cost controls to accomplish operational objectives.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma. 5-7 years of related experience Candidates must have proven managerial skills and excellent communications abilities. Candidates should have a high level understanding of inventory management techniques/theory and inventory accounting. Requires extensive knowledge of general business methods and practices with an emphasis in materials and logistics management. Works constructively and collaboratively with others and across organizations to accomplish organizational goals and objectives. Applies CI methodologies, processes and tools to enhance work effectiveness and to implement process improvements. Leverages experiences and acquires and shares new skills and knowledge to enhance organizational capability and individual competence. Demonstrates a sense of urgency for customers. Foster teamwork by identifying and removing obstacles to ensure organization results are achieved. Writes, speaks, listens, and presents information effectively and persuasively. Provides feedback to associates through verbal and/or written evaluations. Conducts performance appraisals with associates by reviewing tasks and objectives, evaluating associate performance, and setting performance targets. Proficient level in Microsoft Office Suites ( Access, Powerpoint and Excel ( v-looks,ability to formulate pivot tables and queries)
The incumbent should possess a degree in business administration, economics, statistics, or a similar discipline and/or a number of year’s knowledge/experience depending on level.
