The Investigations Counsel will be responsible for managing, overseeing, conducting and providing legal guidance on pending government investigations as well as assisting investigations into allegations of violations of HP's Standards of Business Conduct ("SBC"). The Investigations Counsel will report to the lead Investigations Counsel for the Americas region and will be part of a global team managing external and internal investigations throughout the company.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The strongest candidates will have significant experience in government investigations. Further key attributes of the successful candidate include the experience of managing outside counsel, working in or supporting various diverse markets (including emerging markets), and demonstrated success in advising and supporting senior executives. The demonstrated ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive but firm when necessary is a key asset for the role.

Moreover, strong project management skills and the ability to lead and conduct complex investigations personally are required for the role. The successful candidate will also have the demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, excellent writing skills and as a strong team-player be able to work well with others at various levels of the organization. As the position requires working across various functions within the company, including Global Security and Forensic Audit, demonstrated networking and influencing skills are required.

The successful candidate must not only understand HP's business environment but must have experience with governmental investigations (former US public sector experience preferred) and must be familiar with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other Anti-Corruption statutes. This person should have demonstrated success communicating to and working with senior executives on business critical issues. The Investigations Counsel will work closely with the Ethics and Compliance Office, including the VP of Compliance and HP's Global Anti-Corruption Attorney, to identify areas of weaknesses identified in investigations to ensure that appropriate remedial actions are put in place across HP to help prevent repeat violations. The Investigations Counsel will work with others in the Legal Department, global functions and the businesses to ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.

LOCATION:
Preference for candidates willing to be located at our offices in Wayne, Pennsylvania; Palo Alto, California; Plano, Texas; Herndon, Virginia; or Murray Hill, New Jersey. Strong candidates in other locations will be considered.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate is expected to possess the following qualifications:

A BS or equivalent degree

·

Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent

·

7+ years of relevant Legal experience; at least 3+ years of experience in investigations or experience as a federal prosecutor

·

Strong substantive skills in Anti-Corruption (i.e., Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other Anti-Corruption statutes).

·

Understanding of complex regulations with an ability to communicate to business leaders and employees.

·

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage effectively in a highly-matrixed environment.

·

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience in reporting to senior executives and Boards of Directors is a positive differentiator.

·

Excellent presentation, facilitation, networking and influencing skills.
