Job Description

The McShane Firm LLC, a Harrisburg area law firm focused on criminal and DUI defense, is seeking an experienced investigator. To succeed in this role, you'll need excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be a results oriented person who is self-motivated. Candidates must be able to understand complex case scenarios and have the ability to brief attorneys in a concise and professional manner.

Responsibilities
Obtain and analyze information on the accused, the facts and circumstances surrounding the allegations, to prepare cases for trial. Perform subpoena preparation, service and compliance. Find and interview witnesses to obtain statements/evidence for cases of a criminal nature, or information about an individuals' character or financial status. Review and interpret video recordings. Review medical records. Complete intake medical questionnaire review and all follow up to get records or documents to support assertions. Conduct background investigations of individuals to obtain information about an individual's character, financial status or personal history. Search internet and/or computer databases, credit reports, public records, tax and legal filings, and other resources in order to locate persons or to compile information for investigations. Testify at hearings and court trials to present evidence. Write reports and case summaries to document investigations. May include other responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements
Two years of prior investigative experience. Bachelor or associate degree from an accredited college/university. Law enforcement background, a plus but not required.

Have good judgment and decision making skills. Have strong critical thinking skills. Be self-motivated and able to work independently. Enjoy continuous learning and fast paced environments. Be comfortable using the latest technology from the Internet to smart phones.
