D.A. Davidson & Co., a leading investment bank with operations primarily in the Western and Central U.S., is accepting applicants for a full-time entry-level Analyst position or experienced Associate for its Costa Mesa, CA branch office in Orange County. The Analyst/Associate is expected to work primarily within the Financial Institutions Group, assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, and restructurings. Previous investment banking experience is not required for an Analyst position. Previous experience working with Financial Institutions is required to be considered for an Associate position. All applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and possess a minimum 3.5 GPA. The Analyst/Associate is expected to commit such time as is necessary to effectively fulfill their responsibilities, which will often require 65 to 80 hours per week or more (including some weekends), depending on work load. Specific qualifications and general responsibilities of the individual are included below:

Qualifications: (Including specific Education and License requirements) Analyst Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours, nights, and weekends

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office skills a plus, specifically Excel and PowerPoint)

  • General level of financial knowledge (financial modeling, macro economics, current events, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Previous work experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, or corporate finance is a plus

Associate Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours, nights, and weekends

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office skills a plus, specifically Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • At least 3 years prior experience working with Financial Institutions (preferably in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or accounting)

Duties:
  • Provide presentation / research material for pitch books, memorandums, presentations and other projects

  • Create financial models to analyze a wide variety of client specific events

  • Support business development activities of senior investment bankers

  • Interact with clients on transactional and technical issues

  • Limited travel will be required
