Investment Editor & Blogger
We’re hiring an investment editor and blogger as a lead contributor. This individual will write for our web site and e-letter regularly and also facilitate interaction with our audience. We’re looking for a talented writer who knows how to engage a younger audience of successful professionals with investment content that is fun, interesting, informative, entertaining, and profitable.
Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:
The ideal candidate will have experience as an investment / personal finance journalist or blogger. Additionally, experience executing a social media marketing strategy by proactive building an audience of online followers is important. Audio and video will increasingly be the preferred format of our content, which means we need someone who is comfortable in front of the camera for our web site videos and press interviews to promote our web site.
- Two or three email newsletter issues per week (250 – 500 words each)
- Two or three short-format blog posts per week (150 – 300 words each)
- One or two videos per week to accompany written articles (2 – 5 minutes each)
- Build a following of users on Facebook and Twitter through proactive interaction and outreach (~10 hours per week)
We intend to hire an editor on a contractor basis with a fixed monthly retainer and incentive-based compensation. This is initially a part-time role (~25 - 30 hours per week) that has the possibility of growing into a full-time contractor / employment position.
Freelance Blog Contributor
We’re also seeking talented investment bloggers and financial journalists interested in helping our audience become successful investors. Specifically, we want talented writers who want to contribute periodically to our web site on topics of interest to educated professionals who are beginning to invest. Ideally, contributors will be willing to commit to at least two investment articles per month (video stories are also welcome).
We seek contributors who are receptive to assignments and also want to pitch us article ideas. For freelance contributors, we are comfortable paying a per article fee for content contributions.
