Work in a collaborative team environment to support the broad investment performance reporting needs of the firm’s stakeholders, the Online Performance Reporting platform, and the Performance Reporting vision. Carry out the quality control, production and completion of the monthly and quarterly client reporting process, serving as the primary or secondary contact for select client relationships. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of assigned client reports including an understanding of client’s investment objectives, underlying manager structure, and portfolio money movements. Serve as an expert on performance measurement, reporting services and systems for all stakeholders. Continually adapt to the unique needs and requirements of stakeholders.

Principal Duties :

  • Assume ownership and accountability for the production and final delivery of the monthly and quarterly performance reports to stakeholders as assigned by Team Leader

  • Serve as the primary resource to clients, consulting teams, and other internal departments by demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the client’s investment portfolio, reporting methods and performance measurement theory

  • Analyze transaction, valuation, and performance data from client’s custodian and/or investment managers to ensure accurate performance reporting

  • Reconcile and track all money movements within client portfolios (e.g., investment manager fundings/redemptions, cash flows, new private investment commitments, spending) through communication with internal and external data providers

  • Compare product returns to benchmarks; analyze and document any variances in the reported figures. Create and maintain custom benchmarks.

  • Monitor performance figures provided by internal/external sources to ensure accuracy and consistency

  • Research and analyze performance for client’s underlying manager structure to provide context on total portfolio performance to stakeholders; provide qualitative analysis on individual client’s portfolio

  • Proactively communicate and provide insight on investment performance, deviations from benchmarks and asset allocation targets, and portfolio movements to stakeholders

  • Based on a thorough understanding of individual client needs, provide recommendations to clients and consulting teams for displaying performance results and asset allocation through the Group’s primary products, the Performance Report and the Online Performance Reporting platform

  • Proactively collect, organize and input data provided by client and/or internal sources, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to extracting necessary data points from complex cash account statements, calculating currency hedges and calculating net of C|A fee performance for client portfolios.

  • Respond to questions and ad-hoc requests from member of staff at all levels and stakeholders. Effectively communicate with C|A employees at all levels and external stakeholders.

  • Support the firm’s governance service

  • Understand and speak to the Performance Reporting Group’s pricing model, products and services; accurately execute quarterly billing and invoicing for clients as assigned by Team Leader

  • Fulfill data requests and ad-hoc analysis requests through the generation and/or creation of custom reports on such topics as, hedging and liquidity to stakeholders

  • Attend quarterly manager meetings/calls and produce qualitative and quantitative manager research (hedge fund specialization)

  • Train/mentor peers on topics including, but not limited to investment industry, reporting methods, performance measurement theory and qualitative analysis

  • Actively participate within Department to expand knowledge base and contribute to the evolution of the Department’s product and processes

  • Work on ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or the Client Reporting Management team

  • Be knowledgeable of the global financial markets and asset types, such as, equity, fixed income and alternative investments

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Cambridge Associates’ investment philosophy

  • Other duties as assigned, as earned and as the group evolves
  • Qualifications :
    • BA/BS required with 1-2 years of related work experience preferred
    • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and concepts
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, while ensuring timeliness, accuracy and attention to detail
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to efficiently interact with a wide range of clients and colleagues
    • Proactive, customer-service oriented approach
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
    • Proven track record of taking initiative to improve processes
    • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Microsoft Access and Power Point preferred
    • Advanced writing skills a plus
