Responsible for coordinating John Deere Contract Training Program at all John Deere Contract Sites.
Description of Essential Functions:
Supervise all John Deere Developers and Trainers located on campus and at remote John Deere training sites. 2. Responsible for the scheduling of staff at the training locations. 3. Act as a liaison between Lake Land College and the John Deere Company. 4. Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, and staffing at all contract sites. 5. Monitor and conduct annual evaluations of John Deere staff at all contract sites. 6. Insure compliance with the John Deere Training Contract. 7. Conduct routine visits to the John Deere Training locations. 8. Responsible for the enrollment of John Deere students in the Lake Land registration system. 9. Establish an evaluation process for the John Deere Training Program courses. 10. Teach classes as needed and follow course outlines approved by John Deere and the Lake Land College Curriculum Committee. 11. Place value on student success and learning retention. 12. Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the Dean of Admission Services. 13. Travel to Lake Land’s Mattoon campus and the Minneapolis Training Center on a quarterly basis to coordinate with Division Chairperson, administration, contract staff, faculty, support staff and the Training Center Manager. 14. Attend John Deere meetings as required and participate in the John Deere Training Advisory Committee that impacts course improvement and program evaluation. 15. Participate in staff and professional development activities. 16. Be present at the various training locations, in classrooms, laboratories, office, conducting training or in travel not less than forty hours per week. Notify the Division Chair in advance of approved absences. 17. Work collaboratively with division and John Deere personnel as well as campus staff. 18. Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College. 19. Development a New Employee Integration Plan that aligns with John Deere, and Lake Land College, policies and procedures. 20. Participate in regularly scheduled conference calls with John Deere Managers and Agriculture Division Chair. 21. Coordinate with Agriculture Division Chair and John Deere Managers on recruitment, training, mentoring and performance review of employees. 22. Other responsibilities as designated by the Division Chair.
Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education: Minimum of Associate Degree, Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2000 hours work experience in an agriculture or related field.
Knowledge: General and detailed knowledge of all systems related to Agricultural machinery technology (i.e. mechanical, electrical, electronic, GPS). Working knowledge of current computers and software. Skills: Ability to evaluate instructor's teaching performance.
Personal: Open minded, innovative, enthusiastic, positive attitude, adaptable to new teaching technologies and ability to work well with peers. Physical: Office and classroom computers, multimedia equipment, and diagnostic equipment for all systems utilized in current agricultural machinery technology.
