Responsible for teaching John Deere adult classes in professional technical training.
Description of Essential Functions:
1.Demonstrate a commitment to the teaching/learning process and use a variety of teaching methods and strategies that reflect the varied learning styles and needs of students. 2.Teach classes assigned by the John Deere Coordinator in conjunction with the John Deere Supervisor and follow course outlines approved by John Deere and the Lake Land College Curriculum Committee. 3.Place value on student success and learning retention. 4.Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the Dean of Admission Services. 5.Attend the division meetings called by the Division Chair and support staff/administration meetings called by the administration, if available at training location. 6.Participate in staff and professional development activities. 7.Be present at assigned training center location or remote training locations; in classrooms, laboratories, office, conducting training or in travel not less than forty hours per week. 8.Maintain and handle all supplied training materials and equipment with care and respect to ensure quality. 9.Maintain current teaching materials prescribed by John Deere. 10.Serve on such committees for the betterment of the College as may be established by the administration, if available at training location. 11.Consider the general and special needs of the student. Assist students in meeting needs or solving problems when necessary and seek additional help from other college services. 12.Notify the John Deere Coordinator and location supervisor in advance of approved absences allowing for appropriate class substitution. 13.Work collaboratively with division personnel, campus staff and John Deere co-workers. 14.Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College.
Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education & Experience: Minimum of Associates Degree or equivalent.Bachelors degree preferred. Knowledge and Skills: General and detailed knowledge of all systems related to Agricultural machinery technology. Working knowledge of current computers and software. Personal: Open minded, innovative, enthusiastic, positive attitude,adaptable to new teaching technologies and ability to work well with peers. Physical: Physical ability to perform the job functions and travel as the job requires.
Machines & Equipment Used:
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Office and classroom computers, multimedia equipment, and diagnostic equipment for all systems utilized in current agricultural machinery technology.
General Employment Statement:
A.Length of Training and Probationary Period: 90 days. B.Hours of Work Day: 8 hours minimum with some weekend travel required. C.Group Affiliation: Support Staff, Grade 13 D.Conditions of Employment: Board Policy E.Position: Exempt
