JOB DESCRIPTION: The JWICS System Administrator will work within the AFGSC headquarters supporting all aspects of systems operations for a JWICS Windows Microsoft based server environment to include the following: review and document JWICS network audit logs; build, configure and install new computer and/or communications systems in accordance with Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), AF and local policies; perform security scans of JWICS network; perform corrective actions of discovered security vulnerabilities; perform application of approved security patches; and test systems for proper operation after application of security patches/vulnerability remediation. They will perform system administration duties which include: submitting proposed network and system update recommendations to management for review/approval; assist systems administration functions including account management, user support, system upgrades, system restorations, system backups, status monitoring and reporting.
Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of client's data requires an evaluation of various factors. Exercises independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced skill level in Windows Server Administration (NT, 2000, 2003) and Active Directory experience in maintaining/supporting these environments at an enterprise level. Experience in the following networking environments: Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/IP), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Domain Name Service (DNS), and Domain Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Experience in all of the following: Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Access, Excel, Outlook). Storage Area Networks, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 & 2008, Microsoft Windows 2003, Microsoft Sharepoint 2007, SMS 2003/Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Operations Manager 2007, Active Directory, Group Policy, batch files, scripting languages, Printing Services, Distributed File System, Windows Vista/XP/7 and NetApp Storage Area Networks.
