The Marketing, Interactive, & Technology group of ICF International is currently seeking a Java web application developer. Responsibilities include designing and developing components and frameworks reporting to the Project Manager and follow the direction of the Application Architect. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Java, Grails and Groovy, self-directing, and capable of incorporating new technologies into the application platform. Experience with enterprise Java systems is required and experience implementing solutions for an enterprise java portal is a huge plus.

Candidates must have the following to qualify for consideration:

2 years experience with Grails and Groovy

4 years of overall Java development experience

Must be a US citizen or permanent resident

Bachelor’s degree (4 year) in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with

Experience with Spring and Hibernate

SQL/JDBC with open source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Professional Skills:
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities

Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing administrative support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy

Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team

Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors

Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

Strong oral and written communication skills

Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Ability to be flexible to handle multiple priorities
