Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance IT is actively searching for a Java Developer in Underwriting IT. Commercial Insurance IT supports the Commercial Insurance business group which is the fourth largest commercial insurer in the US. Commercial Insurance IT leverages strengths to continue to simplify operations and invest in new technologies that provide competitive advantage. In this position, you will under general supervision, develop and enhance low to medium complexity applications from general specifications. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those software applications. Competent to independently work on most phases of development activities; requires instruction and guidance in phases. Analyzes low to medium complexity technical system problems.
Responsibilities:

Performs low to medium complexity source code development.
· Assists in low to medium complexity unit test case development.
· Develops test scripts.
· Assists in the development of production support documentation.
· Provides functional/system integration testing support.
· Performs Quality Assurance coding review.
· Investigates components of new tools and techniques.
· Conducts low to medium complexity impact analysis and component design.
· Defects or discrepancies in requirements identified and resolved with appropriate partners.
· Provide accurate and thorough project artifacts.
· Participate in efforts to improve quality of developed applications.
· Provide proper documentation with change management process/procedures.
· Completes project work or other tasks as assigned.
