Participate in all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), from inception to implementation and support.
Responsible for creating and maintaining web applications and web services that interact with complex databases.
Collaborates with developers and clients to develop precise business logic.
Participate in the training and support of lesser-experienced programmers.
Assist programmers in interpreting and implementing departmental standards and guidelines. Explain logical and technical situations so that the most efficient approach is taken; also explain the reasoning behind the specified solution.
Develop new complex computer applications and enhance existing systems according to assigned project requests, in accordance with established departmental standards and guidelines. Responsible for researching, analyzing, coding, and testing all changes, drawing on user and technical resources to successfully complete the request.
Provide Tier III help desk support for processes and applications hosted on customer systems. Assist users in resolving questions relating issues, schedules or specially requested information obtained from computer systems. Quickly assess exceptions occurring in the daily production cycle and determine proper course of action to be taken.
Provide a positive example of professionalism and exceptional work ethics to client personnel and throughout the corporation.
Assist users in understanding applications and processes as hosted on the system.
Perform peer code reviews and audits. Analyze existing code and remediate performance issues within existing applications.
Maintain cohesive working relationship with all areas of the corporation.
Identify, recommend, and/or develop code modifications or applications to support the business requirements.
Delegate work on smaller sub-tasks of large projects to other developers, to most efficiently utilize available resources.
Perform other duties, as required, to assist client in successfully meeting its and its customer’s goals and objectives.
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
8+ years J2EE application design and development experience.
4+ years in Enterprise web development
Experience with J2EE application architecture, design, development and programming tools and
3+ years’ experience in Java Server Faces (JSF)
3+ years’ experience in Hibernate
3+ years’ experience in using IBM Rational Application Developer tools
3+ years’ experience in using and supporting WebSphere applications in a Linux environment
Experience with SQL and understanding complex queries
Fundamental skills in data analysis, data modeling, and working with relational databases
Experience with web service design and implementations
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, especially those relating to the expression of
technical terms to non-technical personnel.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
Training and/or experience in project management, user relations and information gathering
Commitment to being service-oriented towards coworkers and users.
