Responsible for creating and maintaining logical, physical, and process architectures for the applications of business process solutions. Own and maintain the architecture and documentation for business process applications.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Performs workload analysis to establish performance baselines and reporting metrics.
Maps application requirements to technical architectures such as networks, servers, databases and desktops.
Designs process frameworks and templates to capture key technical requirements during project design and analysis phase for successful delivery of end-to-end solutions.
Assists IT Operations management staff with developing operational standard processes and procedures in areas of server and storage deployment, monitoring, scripting and system automation, backup/restore, security, disaster recovery and capacity planning.
Documents and performs knowledge transfer with operational support personnel upon project completion.
Reviews new technologies to aid with the establishment of a technology road map.
Partners with internal customers and vendors to properly plan, organize and execute performance benchmarks.
Assists with budget planning process.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Over 10+ years of experience spanning multiple technology areas such as Java 6/7, J2EE, Web Services, AJAX, SOA, Spring, JMS, EJB, XML and other open source software and tools.
Experience handling customer-facing roles in multi-year, multi-phase large-scale enterprise application implementation.
Architecture experience on applications across a wide variety of technology platforms
Experience in application Security, Performance & Application Integration, Infrastructure & Deployment Architecture.
Thought leadership experience in architecture, POC, Project planning, configuration & implementation
Experience defining & implementing technical approaches, guidelines, frameworks and best practices
Hands on Product/Tool Evaluation and POCs.
Rollout Strategy, Implementation planning
Experience troubleshooting technical issues
Experience with design & code reviews
Experience to include work on Web/app server like apache Tomcat, JBoss, Web Logic, IBM http, & IBM Websphere
Retail/wholesale industry experience is a plus.
Experience with IBM MQ & SAP PI is a plus
Experience with SDLC lifecycle.
