Primary Responsibilities: JAVA PORTAL LEAD

Team Management

Manages the Team to meet balanced scorecard targets by:
Monitoring portal and web application Team progress towards achieving business goals.

Adhere to CareCentrix SDLC & IT

Directing smooth workflows within the team

Staying informed and in touch with key elements of the organization beyond their team

Communicating key messages and updates to stakeholders (CSO, QA, PM, end users) in timely manner.

Maintaining constructive relationships within and outside the team and, manages team morale.

Supporting existing programs and initiatives while developing new skills and capabilities

Conducting performance reviews and addresses performance management issues.

Technical Management

Manages the technical team toward accurate and timely delivery by:

Providing technical leadership in Java and Web technologies

Driving technical analysis and design activities. Build and deploy code for complex functions.

Managing development of solution for Claims domain from Development to QA and production using CareCentrix development standards and enforcing adherence to SDLC.

Ensuring high productivity and quality of code

Ensuring the key technical procedures, standards, quality controls and tools are properly utilized.

Performing root cause analysis for technical issues.

Time Accounting and Resource Management

Manages the projects and resources allocation by:
Collaborate in request gathering sessions and design sessions with CSO group and finalize the development/project timelines.

Developing project estimates to support new and/or existing projects.

Scheduling start and completion dates based on agreed scope of work.

Implementing actions to enhance software development processes and minimize unfavorable work variance.

Analyze issues or concerns related to project constraints (time, money and resources) appropriately and follow change requests process to accommodate project scope changes.

Abides by and demonstrates the company Mission – Vision – Values through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis.

Adheres to and participates in Company’s mandatory HIPAA privacy program / practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs / practices.

Reviews and adheres to all Company policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT web application development, healthcare knowledge preferred.

Management of Development team in matrix or PMO environment is preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical discipline required, MBA or Masters in Computers preferred

Healthcare knowledge preferred

PMP certification preferred

Java Certifications preferred

Six Sigma Certification preferred

Java 1.5

Multi-tier J2EE web application development: Servlets, JSP, JAXB, JDBC, JavaMail, JMX, HTTP/S, HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX

Web frameworks: Struts 1.x, Spring 2.x, Acegi Security, XFire/CXF

ORM frameworks: Hibernate v3.x



App Server: JBoss

RDBMS: Oracle 10g

SCM: Subversion

IDE: Eclipse

Build tools: Ant/Maven

Testing: JUnit/TestNG, SoapUI

Design: OOD, Database Modeling

ESB and/or Enterprise Application Integration

JMS and/or Message-oriented Middleware

Single Sign On and/or SAML 2

Profiling and performance optimization (JConsole, OptimizeIT, JProbe Yourkit, etc.)

Java Security (JAAS, Encryption)

Mobile Technology (iPhone / Android)

Unix (shell scripts)

Builds and Releases (SCM branch/merge/tag)
