JAVA WEB DEVELOPER, Alumni Association, to perform ongoing full lifecycle design, development, implementation, and testing of the Alumni Association website and WBS (web-based services) system in Java, HTML, and Oracle. Will manage, troubleshoot, and test existing components of the online system including the application programs and web application servers; provide technical support for problems related to the web site; develop and maintain SQL and stored procedures in Oracle; integrate multimedia assets and applications into the site and ensure cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility; develop effective user interfaces for application and content web pages; perform software systems testing and bug fixing efforts; and write technical notes and documents on web application.

REQUIREMENTS: a B.S. in computer science, engineering, or related area; at least three years of professional full life cycle programming experience; strong Java, SQL, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and HTML skills; solid knowledge of relational database management systems (RDMBS), specifically Oracle9 databases; strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and debugging skills; ability to work in PC and UNIX environments; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; and excellent organizational, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills. Seek self-motivated individual who is able to learn new technologies with minimal supervision. Development experience with complex, tiered, high-availability, Java-based Internet applications preferred; as is a strong background in web development and web services utilizing J2EE technologies (XML/XSL/XPath/XML schemas, Struts, Spring, and Tomcat).
