The candidate will be part of a small team that develops highly interactive and visually rich Web applications for Big Data, cyber security, and identity intelligence. Use cases will range from multi-dimensional data analysis to software configuration and content management. The candidate and the team will be largely responsible for the overall design of the applications. The candidate should expect to learn subject matter that pertains to the use case of the applications, which may include graph theory, relationship analysis, networking protocols, or geocoding.
Understanding of HTTP, RESTful architecture design
Exposure to asynchronous and event-driven programming
Ability to design, code, debug, test, and deploy software through the full application lifecycle
Ability to document software and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
Functional understanding of Linux
Ability to rapidly adopt a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Lua, Scala, Go)
Exposure to Web server configuration and deployment (e.g. Apache, Nginx, Tomcat)
Exposure to database management systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, CouchDB, MongoDB)
Exposure to Web or networking frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Tornado, Twisted, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails)
Exposure to common data interchange formats (e.g. JSON, XML, MessagePack)
