Our portfolio includes new construction, renovation and historic preservation projects for college and university and government clients. EYP is currently hiring a Job Captain/Project Architect in our Albany, NY office. This position works closely with the Project Director, assisting with the technical and production aspects of projects from the design phase through construction.

The Job Captain/Project Architect is responsible for coordinating and leading the project production team in developing construction documents; initiating and developing technical level design concepts and details; coordinating consultants’ work and drawings into production set; implementing the firm’s Quality Management checks; conducting coordination meetings; providing technical assistance to other team members; supervising, preparing, and coordinating the bid documents; ensuring compliance to applicable codes and ADA requirements; ensuring EYP standards for construction document production and backups are followed; reviewing and developing project work plans with the Project Director; making recommendations relative to staffing needs; preparing and coordinate documentation for project review meetings; and mentoring less experienced architects.

The successful candidate will have effective communication, presentation, organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced challenging work environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, 12+ years of new construction and/or renovation experience and strong design and technical expertise required. Proficiency in Revit a plus. Professional registration and experience working on research and lab planning buildings preferred. LEED accreditation desirable.
