Over its 39 year history, the Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) (www.medasf.org) has advanced innovative approaches to promote economic justice through asset development for the Latino community in San Francisco. Its programs foster asset creation through group education and one on one counseling in financial capability, small business development, homeownership, income tax preparation and community planning.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Job Developer works under the supervision of the Business Services Manager to identify and meet the staffing and growth needs of local employers. Working within the Business Development Program Team, the Employer Services Specialist will coordinate the delivery of services to employers to meet their growing needs: HR training, procurement training and assistance, staffing recruitment, etc. The Employer Services Specialist will also facilitate job placements for individuals participating in MEDAs job readiness programs by providing employment services to clients. The Employer Services Specialist develops opportunities for our job seekers to obtain employment and obtain financial independence.
1*Direct Job placement: Meet or exceed defined direct placement goals; includes matching MEDA job seekers with hiring needs of employer clients, and providing outstanding customer service to employer clients before, during and after placement;
2*Grow MEDAs employer client base: Includes but not limited to targeting appropriate industries for MEDA job seekers, identifying, prospecting and securing new employer clients in target industries; and maintaining a sufficient prospect pipeline to achieve defined business development goals;
3*Maintain relationships with business clients; sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities; attend and participate in networking events to establish and strengthen relationships with business clients; provide general PR.
4*Reporting and documentation: Includes maintaining all prospect and job seeker records and other data per MEDA requirements;
5.Participate in staff meetings and other business meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum one year of sales, job placement, and business development experience required; candidates will be expected to demonstrate proof of having developed effective sales strategies, ease and success with making cold calls and sales presentations, and of using effective closing techniques. Existing relationships with San Franciscos businesses, a bachelors degree and bilingual proficiency are highly desirable;
Must be a self-starter; able to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; and to work enthusiastically with a sense of urgency
Internet and PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office;
Excellent quantitative and financial analysis skills.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Experience and/or desire to work with diverse populations.
Familiarity with San Franciscos political environment, preferred.
Bachelors degree in business, finance, economics or other related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable. Proficiency in Spanish is required.
HOURS: This is a, fulltime, exempt position.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
