Directs the tasks of apprentice electricians and participates in commercial electrical construction and service work.

Wears tools at all required times
Installs raceways, pulls wire, and mounts equipment, training apprentices to do the same
Assembles and installs small to large electrical parts and pieces, training apprentices to do the same
Trims outlets, recessed cans and other repetitive finish work, training apprentices to do the same
May perform hot work if qualified and trained with all necessary precautions in place
Assists apprentices in completing Apprenticeship Paperwork including hours and reviews
Takes accountability for their continuing education including:
Keeping up with changing technology
Keeping up with the national electrical code
Responsible for leading communications with apprentices and following direction from foreman including tell back procedure
Uses electrical formulas to figure out pipe fill, device and panel size, and disconnect
Lays out and organizes assigned tasks to apprentices
Plans materials and tools needed to complete the job
Reads and understands basic blueprints
Handles material required for the job
Performs duties as assigned by foreman
Takes accountability for a neat and clean work area
Other physical labor duties as may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skill as a Journeyman Electrician
Installing electrical equipment
Layout and planning of electrical installations
Ensuring materials and tools necessary to perform tasks are available
Adapting to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information.
Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks
Managing complex tasks, breaking them down to their component levels
Effective written and oral communication sufficient to be able to elicit and communicate information and achieve understanding
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, vendors, consultants, management, and employees
Operating a computer
Organizing work to accomplish tasks
Reading, writing and math
Prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs
Tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment
Working with schedules
Lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Vision acuity (near and far)
High School Diploma or equivalent, Degree in related field is preferred, 4 years of apprenticeship training (3 with 2 year degree from technical college),
Journeyman Wireman’s license from the State of Colorado or appropriate State.
High level of Energy and sense of urgency are preferred.
