The Junior Editor is a member of a team of HR compliance specialists

providing content for 6 newsletter publications, new products, and product

revisions. The product development team is a multi-faceted product support

group and team members are expected to be flexible and take initiative to

assist each other. The Editor will report to the Director of Research and

Product Development.

Required Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in written communications, journalism, English or

equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Two or

more years of writing experience in a professional setting and/or two or

more years of experience in a legal, training or human resources position

is a plus. The junior editor should also have experience working with

industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure. In

addition, the following computer-related experience is required:
•Must be proficient with MS Word
•Must have the ability to conduct extensive research to locate relevant
information using a variety of online sources
•Knowledge of InDesign and Mac systems preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create/compile content for newsletters, manuals, guidebooks, and posters
that address HR compliance issues for small businesses
•Research the necessary components and tasks associated with HR compliance
•Serve as an integral member of the editorial team, keeping abreast of
developments in employment law and prioritizing topics to be covered in
products and publications
•Follow a standardized process to edit and deliver product content in a
fast-paced environment
•Edit documents in Microsoft Word for grammar, spelling, and internal
•Converting manuscripts into InDesign art files using existing templates
•Contribute labor law-based articles to 6 quarterly newsletter publications
•Work with the Graphics team to integrate content and visual elements
•Regularly assist other team members
•Proofreading product content, marketing content, and newsletters
•Ensure timely delivery of content projects
