Mutual Series is supported by an experienced team of Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Traders who have adhered to a distinct deep value investment philosophy for over 60 years. The strong fund performances attributed to the time-tested approach of applying dedicated fundamental research, focused primarily on undervalued stocks, as well as opportunities in distressed securities and merger arbitrage. The talented team of professionals at Mutual Series remains committed to delivering strong and consistent performance for their shareholders. The Mutual Series strategy has historically provided funds with lower volatility than the overall market and has enabled the team to deliver strong and more consistent results over the long-term. The Research Analyst will be an integral member of our team. The Analyst will support several Sr. Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers in researching global equity opportunities.
Work closely with and provide support to senior members of the Mutual Series investment team.
Conduct thorough financial statement analysis, visit with company management, and facilitate discussions with competitors, customers and other industry contacts to create a long-term financial model in support of an independent investment valuation and recommendation.
Initiate and maintain written and verbal communication with portfolio managers within the firm to make investment recommendations.
Ideal candidates will have:
BA required, CFA or MBA preferred
At least 2 years of fundamental equity research or valuation experience.
International expertise preferred, but not required.
Ability to build detailed financial models while displaying a clear understanding of accounting principles.
Solid analytical and research skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to display confidence when debating and discussing relevant investment ideas.
Must adhere to a consistent approach of bottom-up investing.
Intellectual curiosity and passion for delivering superior performance.
