Our client, a "Fortune 500", "100 Best Companies to Work For", " 2011 World's Most Ethical Companies" located in Englewood, Colorado, currently has a 1 yr. contract position for a Jr. System Administrator. Consultant will work (4) 10 hour days:
Work Hours are Tuesday - Friday, 3pm to 1am
The Jr. System Administrator is responsible for the day to day support, repair, and new implementations of Enterprise servers, storage, and data management
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, etc. in accordance with standards and operational requirements
Participate in monthly downtime activities
Contribute to and maintain system standards
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media
Repair and recover from hardware failures. Coordinate and communicate effectively with Tier 3 staff
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis as necessary
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
Provide support of Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V and other related projects and technologies as required.
Participates effectively as a team member through communications, cooperation, information sharing, and problem solving
Assists in other areas as directed by supervisor. Maintains complete and accurate records of work performed
Trains and mentors less experienced staff
Functions as lead position in the absence of the supervisor
Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems, recommends course of action and implements as approved
MCSE or 5 years experience in server administration
Strong Knowledge of
Windows Server 2003, Windows 2008
Active Directory (Provisioning, Group Policies, Etc.)
Working knowledge of
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
SQL 2008, 2010
These technologies are a plus
Systems Management tools (WSUS, SCCM, SCOM, etc.)
Provisioning new switches / routers
Education, EXPERIENCE and Travel REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
5 to 7 years of progressive proven hands-on computer networking and systems engineering experience.
Local travel may be required to set up servers in our Cherry Creek data center.
Current MSCE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator)
