Western & Southern Financial Group has an immediate opportunity for a Jr. Technical Analyst (IT), Windows Server.

Summary of Technologies:
Administration, support and maintenance of Windows Server 2003 and 2008 system services and security configurations at an enterprise level. This includes IIS, File and print services, and operating system troubleshooting. Full lifecycle maintenance and administration of Windows based servers operating systems and related server hardware.
Active Directory and all related administration of user and computer objects, site and domain replication, and group policy
Windows XP/7 client integration including drive mapping and login scripts
Windows scripting technologies – including PowerShell, VB Script, and KiXtart.
VMware ESX and Virtual Center including basic configuration, support, and provisioning of virtual machine guests.
Networking basics: TCP/IP, VLANS, routing, and ports
Enterprise level of governance for configuration management, change management, and incident management.
Maintenance, administration, and basic repair of data center server hardware. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Assists in research, analysis, definition, design, testing, checking and planning activities and applying new technologies to processes. Recommends courses of action on new applications development when systems problems arise. Monitors the rapidly changing systems development environment (software products, programming languages, operating systems, hardware availability, technology trends, etc.) and assists with the transition to new technologies, providing research and problem-solving support, mentoring, training, etc. Has contact with all levels of personnel, both within and outside of Western & Southern Financial Group (W&SFG). Works with minimal supervision and is responsible to make an established range of decisions, escalates to manager when necessary and updates manager on a regular basis.

Position Requirements

Position Responsibilities:
•Participates in monitoring new developments in software/hardware marketplace. Assists in identifying new products with potential benefit to W&SFG and conducts research and analysis of these products. Demonstrates the applicability of tools in real-world applications.
•Monitors emerging technology trends (mobile computing, imaging, client/server, data warehousing, object-oriented design, etc.), investigates their use in W&SFG and recommends adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate.
•Provides “swat team” style support to development projects, by resolving problems of a moderately complex, technical nature. Ensures projects remain on track with very aggressive schedules.
•Assists in developing standards/guidelines that influence implementation of new technologies throughout W&SFG development staff.
•Participates in research, definition, design, development, testing, checkout and debugging of new systems, new technologies and/or systems’ improvements; frequently assists in handling projects, from research to implementation.
•Assists in design elements of new systems and modifications with consideration for the elements of time, cost, controls and flexibility. Assures that programming is hardware efficient, and utilizes all system tools effectively. Assists in walk-throughs and program inspections.
•Functions as a coordinator of activities within and between programming departments and/or between operating departments and programming departments.
•Provides moderately complex technical and application problem analysis.
•Assists in evaluating and determining feasibility of proposed projects and evaluates new software packages in terms of cost, resources required, systems compatibility, etc., and makes recommendations.
•Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Educational Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree or commensurate selection criteria experience.

Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:
•Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
•Proven skills in working in most aspects of a mainframe/communications/open systems environment.

Certifications & licenses (i.e. Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):
•None required.

Position Demands:
•Willingness to work overtime and adjusted work hours as required by department management and to handle problems via off-hour calls as required, including returning to work if necessary.
