• An employee new to the Judicial Branch will serve a one-year probationary period.
This position is one of the primary assistant and staff persons for the Supreme Court Justices. The assistant is responsible for performing all administrative and judicial support functions in a professional manner. The assistant will manage a large volume of paperwork, coordinate the workflow with other judicial assistants, and perform all other necessary administrative duties. Supreme Court Justices handle a large appellate caseload so the successful candidate must work well under pressure and must be able to handle multiple tasks and demands. Extensive experience with legal documents, legal terminology and office management is essential. Experience with Microsoft Word is required.

The position requires an associate’s degree in business or clerical studies or a similar field and at least two (3) years of progressively responsible legal experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience in a legal or court setting is required and can substitute for the associate’s degree. Experience with automated case management systems is a plus.
