The Junior Business Analyst will work directly with the Controller/Director of Contracts and will be responsible for supporting the administrative functions of two departments in the company – Finance and Contract management. Candidate must be a bright,
detailed oriented person with above average analytical skills and a natural affinity for systems. This position should maintain a familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals. This position will perform a variety of critical tasks, and the candidate will need to be able to learn in a face paced environment. Must show potential to direct and lead the work of others over a period of time and will support the activities
of the Contracts/Finance department.
Essential Job Functions:
Track schedules and timelines for contract period of performances and proposal activities
Organize and manage contract files including both manual and electronic file systems
Summarize contract amendments and modifications and distribute to representatives in operations
Assist business development in the production and preparation of proposals including formatting resumes and technical proposals.
Continuous Improvement - analysis work to review current manual or workflow activities and tasks performed by people, functional areas, and systems which are designed to achieve a specific outcome, while assuring data quality/integrity.
Understand relationships, information exchanges/handoffs, procedures, policies, and observations of work performed to achieve specific outcomes. Within the context of the relationship with the business, assures alignment for continuous improvement within
the business landscape.
Ability to work in ambiguous and rapidly changing requirements. Must be able to multi-task at any given time and move flawlessly between agendas.
Conduct special projects as needed such as market research
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Review Invoices for accuracy, look up history to avoid duplicate payment, code them to the proper GL, process employee expense reports which includes verifying per diems and ensuring that appropriate documentation is attached, print checks.
Assures and protects corporate and client confidentiality.
Bachelors Degree (Finance, Business, Information Technology, or related fields). Education can be substituted with work experience. Minimum two (2) years in a similar environment with working knowledge of government contracts. Preferred, but not necessary:
Experience working with Deltek Time and Expense, GCS Premier, and Contract Data Bases.
Demonstrated organizational, management and analytical skills. Excellent phone, written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills. Proficient in MS Word, Ms Outlook, Excel, Access and Power Point. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Occasional
evening and/or weekend work may be required. Demonstrated professional demeanor. Reliable transportation for local travel. Use judgment to analyze facts or transactions to determine actions needed to be taken within standard or accepted practice. Extensive
outside contacts requiring a high degree of diplomacy and tact to deal with and influence persons in all types of environments. Demonstrate decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills and understand the impact on company and adverse effects on
outside relationships and customer accounts. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of company information such as cost and bid information where disclosure might have an adverse effect. Entrepreneurial ability that thrives in a competitive, fast-paced
environment. Strong understanding of the company’s core competencies and the ability to present our capabilities and expertise to potential clients.
