With offices in Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Palo Alto, our consultants spend most of their time on the front lines of our business. They interact directly with our customers, often at their Silicon Valley-based offices. With the right balance of having enough technical skills to get the job done and a knack for communicating with customers to understand their needs, our consultants are critical to our ability to deliver world-class consulting services.
We are currently looking for a Junior Consultant to help support our growing consulting practice. We need someone with a combination of excellent consulting skills, a solid understanding of how computer applications work, and one who can consistently delight our customers.
The ideal Junior Consultant will have:
Consulting skills - you’re a great communicator! You’re awesome when talking to customers and understanding their needs. You advise them on what technologies they should be using and how it will help grow their business. They love you because you’re easy to talk to and can skillfully say “no” without ruffling any feathers.
Technical knowledge - you have a solid understanding of how computer applications work. You have a good understanding of programming which allows you to translate customer needs into technical products and features, that you can then work with the team to build and ship.
A sense of urgency - you understand that you’re billable, so every hour counts! You always strive to do a thorough job and get things done quickly. Speed is important to you because you believe in the Hacker Way - “move fast and break things!”
The ability to learn quickly - you have a natural love for technology, so the challenge of learning new ones isn’t a problem for you! You’re eager to learn new methodologies in order to solve complex technical issues. You gain great satisfaction in knowing that you are able to grasp (and then later apply) a substantial amount of information in a limited time span.
Your day-to-day tasks will be:
Consulting with enterprise customers to understand their technical software needs
Being actively involved in migration, implementation, and integration projects - be prepared to get your hands dirty!
Making verbal and written recommendations to help solve configuration issues and meet requirements
Establishing customer expectations and occasionally being a mediator
Collaborating with other consultants (both Junior and Senior) to build tools and features requested by customers
Providing ad hoc technical support to CustomWare Project Managers
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. You don’t need to be a coding wizard - just reasonably technical and have a monster appetite for learning.
1-3 years of experience in a high-technology environment
Strong consulting skills/background
Exposure to migration, implementation, and integration projects
Familiarity with Atlassian, Zendesk, or Box product suites is a plus
