Job Opening: Junior Designer
We are seeking outstanding candidates with a demonstrated track record of innovative, creative, and quantitative thought leadership.
As a Junior Designer at Sentrana, you'll provide visual design support to the marketing and product management teams. You will work closely with world-class scientists, engineers, the executive managers of our Fortune 500 clients, and our partners in a small team environment, giving you the opportunity to contribute to the rapidly evolving science and technology of quantitative marketing and fact-based, optimal decision making.
At Sentrana, the lines between R&D, product development, and client engagement at the executive level are blurred – so you'll see the results of your efforts in days or weeks not years. Our heritage is one of entrepreneurship, where individuals' innovative ideas are prized and rapidly re-shape the capabilities of large-scale enterprises. Because Sentrana provides the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other teams you will have immediate visibility into the relationship between your efforts and the business or technological impact of your work.
Your primary responsibility will be to support the visual design creation and enhancement of our products, the development of our brand collateral for Sentrana’s products, and additional visual support for the marketing and solutions teams, as needed.
As a junior designer you will be expected to:
Assist with any visual design creations, enhancement, and changes for our products and marketing collateral
Support product development with modifications or creations to product designs and interfaces
Create graphics for client presentations and marketing collateral
Assist with the creation of product assets for marketing videos
Assist marketing and sales with the development of marketing and brand collateral, such as brochures, pamphlets, whitepapers, Power Point presentations and recruiting campaigns
Assist with HTML and CSS needs for the front end product development
Update and edit Sentrana's corporate website, monthly newsletters, and email templates
1-3 years experience as a designer
A background in Visual Design, Marketing, Art, Communications, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Power Point and CS5 suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Dreamweaver and Flash)
Experience working with both Mac and Windows platforms desired, but not mandatory
Working experience with HTML and CSS
Some studio art skills, specifically drawing and illustration experience
Strong time management ability, detail-oriented, and organized
Critical thinker, self-starter, and dynamic, with a desire to learn and to take on challenges
Ability to learn fast and adapt to changes
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively from concept to final product delivery
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
A strong portfolio showing artistic sensibility, creativity, strong visual skills, layout and color theory
This position is contract-to-hire. Contract will be based on an hourly rate commensurate with experience. After a three month contract term there is the potential to move to a full-time salaried position.
We offer a generous compensation package, including an equity stake, plus a collaborative, tier-one management team. More importantly, we provide an intellectually fertile environment for people to learn, experiment, and grow. Our work focuses on difficult problems that have no easy answers – indeed it is our pursuit and embrace of such problems that inspires the growth of our associates and our enterprise.
