Position: Junior Research Technician ; Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD
Salary Range: $ 27 ,0 00 /year
Position Description : T his position requires p erform ing a variety of tasks in support of a diverse research environment. Responsibilities include management of chemicals (solids, liquids and gasses), including tracking, maintaining inventories, performing deliveries and transporting waste containers, as well as supporting engineers and technicians to perform scheduled and unscheduled ma intenance on a wide variety of research equipment, keeping lab areas tidy and orderly and supporting researchers with basic tasks .
Position Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a secret clearance
Must be able occasionally to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum of 50 pounds
High School Diploma or GED
Good grade s in High School Chemistry and Mathematics (B or better, prefer honors or AP classes)
Basic computer skill s
o MS Word and Excel
o Programming and hardware knowledge a plus
A bility to work in a cleanroom environment
Mechanically inclined (experience with hand tools)
Good attention to detail
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, self-starter, punctual and good attendance record
The selected candidate will be a contract employee of General Technical Services LLC (GTS). US citizenship is requir ed (security clearance) . There may be occasional travel. GTS offers company-funded educational support for job-related training. To accomplish its mission SEDD utilizes several unique facilities, most notably the Zahl
Physical Science Laboratory, a 349,000 GSF state-of-the-art electronics R&D facility. This building has a 15 ,000 GSF class 10 and class 100 clean room, dry room, high energy laser facilities, bio-inspired sensor laboratories and other research & development infrastructure.
