Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a research plan for analysis in creating a new research program to map and value ecosystem services in Hawai'i.
Adapt InVEST modeling software for Hawaiian landscapes to collect and identify data.
Oversee Master's students gathering data.
Co-author a review paper examining alternate modeling approaches and draft research proposals
Ph.D. from a university of recognized standing in applied ecology, ecosystem services, environmental valuation or related field.
Experience in applying modeling software InVEST.
Experience writing grant proposals.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in GIS (geographic information system).
Experience in use of economic tools to value ecosystem services.
Experience in programming software (i.e. Python).
Some experience in land use policy and field work in Hawai'i
