Myspace is currently searching for a Junior Storage Engineer to be a part of their technology team. This role will assist a team with the design and management of a large scale global storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and have hands-on technical knowledge with provisioning, maintaining, and configuring SAN/NAS storage systems and SAN fiber switches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provide technical support in managing, designing, upgrading and maintaining storage infrastructure, provision storage, data replication and snapshots in a multiprotocol heterogeneous environment.
•Partner with the team to troubleshoot storage availability, connectivity and performance issues from the file system through to the physical drive.
•Recommend and perform maintenance and code upgrades of all storage systems and host software.
•Produce metrics for Management.
•Assist with the continuous analysis of the team’s processes to drive efficiencies.
•Research, recommend, and implement additional systems or services.
•Develop and maintain concise process documentation related to responsibilities.
•Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation capabilities.
•Ability to think analytically, problem solve and troubleshoot when necessary.
•Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
•1-3 years of direct experience with HP/3PAR, NetApp, and/or Brocade.
•1-3 years of experience provisioning for Windows and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/SL) servers.
•Knowledge of database fundamentals related to SQL Server and MySql.
•Experience in managing a SAN Fabric.
•Knowledge of CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC plus Virtual platforms (VMWare).
