The Bear Crew is in search of a Junior Systems Administrator. This position will provide systems support for VTB employees and onsite contractors. This position will manage the server, PC and network infrastructure. This position provides Tier 1 Help Desk support for PCs, phones, network accounts, printers, and applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

A. Help Desk
• Provide first level support for VTB employees and onsite contractors for PCs, phones, voicemail, and applications
• Support the infrastructure systems and foundational software and hardware, including, but not limited to, servers, email, anti virus, printers, backup/restores, SANs, user IDs
• Develop and maintain documentation in support of System Administration and Help Desk responsibilities and tasks
• Trouble-shoot server and network issues
• Provide 24x7 on-call support
B. Systems Administration
• Deploy the infrastructure systems and foundational software and hardware, including, but not limited to, pcs, servers, email, anti virus, printers, backup systems, SAN, networks, user accounts
• Coordinate maintenance and service for printers/copiers/faxes for VTB, including toner purchase/replacement
• Negotiate maintenance contracts for printers/copiers/faxes
C. Telecommunications
• Install/support phone sets and voice mail
• Coordinate all warranty replacements and equipment maintenance
• Trouble-shoot PBX, telecommunications issues
D. Peak
• Assist w/ setup and certification of agent PCs/phones prior to training sessions
• Provide primary contact for PC/phone support during holiday
E. Demonstrate VTB’s customer service philosophy and effective communication skills while supporting client needs
F. Responsible for adherence to VTB’s departmental and corporate policies and procedures
G. Assist with the development, maintenance, dissemination and adherence to departmental Action Plans on a year-round basis
H. Responsible for S.O.S participation as required during Peak Periods
I. Responsible for writing Peer Reviews and Management Assessments as requested
J. Will follow all ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by VTB and the department
This position requires a high level of attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills along with excellent follow-through and problem-solving capabilities. Must have the ability to absorb new technology rapidly and understand business issues. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Must be flexible and react positively to change.
Education / Experience
A. B.S.– Computer Science or equivalent experience
B. Experience with networking and systems administration and experience with currently deployed and industry standard infrastructure preferred
C. PC software and hardware knowledge – Windows, Mac OS X
D. Business experience with LAN/WAN – Windows, Mac OS X, Linux
E. Understanding of network communications (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory)
F. Routing, switching, firewalls, file/print services
G. Citrix XenApp, Windows Server, and Linux experience preferred
