They are currently seeking MULTIPLE Linux/C++ developers with 2 to 5 years experience to join their extremely talented team. You will participate in their ongoing mission to reduce latency across every aspect of their systems environment and squeeze maximum performance and profitability from their sophisticated trading systems. The new hires will be exposed to all aspects of development, optimization and troubleshootin g on the group's high performance platforms to trade an extremely broad range of asset classes across all global markets. You will work on all aspects of the systems, including market data collection/analysis, backtesting of trading strategies, order tracking, P&L calculation engines and much more. As your experience grows, y ou will work in concert with traders, quants and strategists to insure effective implementation of their complex strategies and fine tune as required. Your duties will include: • Develop, optimize and support high performance server side components.
- Help integrate, maintain and troubleshoot code in a production environment.
- Work with fellow developers, traders and strategists in a close-knit team environment.
- Contribute product, service and business improvement ideas and energy.
o 2 to 5 years of performance oriented, server side experience in C++ on a Unix/Linux platform
o Some e xperience with low level network programming strongly preferred
o Any e xperience building high frequency event based systems would be a plus (in either the financial OR non-financial environment)
o Some knowledge or understanding of financial markets would be preferred, although the group is quite open to considering strong developers from outside the financial industry, who will bring fresh perspective to their development efforts
o Any Unix/Linux kernel experience would be a plus
o Should have excellent knowledge of thread management and other low level programming concepts
o Strong CompSci educational background is preferred, MS CS would be ideal
o Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including ability to work effectively and efficiently in both an individual and team setting
o Demonstrated ability to complete multiple projects while working effectively under pressure
o Self-starter, must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
The compensation will be commensurate with the experience level of qualified candidates. For candidates with relevant domain knowledge, your base could reach the $150K range, with an additional bonus potentially taking the overall comp package into the $250K+ range. The numbers are definitely flexible for the right candidates, since these roles have high strategic priority supporting one of the core business areas of the firm, generating many millions of dollars of profit annually. It is entirely feasible for the successful candidates to be earning upwards of $500K in coming years!
