With over seventeen clinical services staffed by board certified specialists, many of whom are not only nationally but also internationally renowned, the VHC at the College of Veterinary Medicine ( CVM ) is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of multiple specialists utilizing a team approach to patient health care. Each year, nearly 22,000 patients are treated in the VHC . The VHC provides compassionate care, state of the art specialty health care, expert clinical instruction for 4th year veterinary students from CVM , and ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine.
Essential Job Duties
This position works in the Small Animal Wards and within Clinical Services of the Veterinary Health Complex ( VHC ). The incumbent coordinates and performs activities relating to hospital disinfection, patient housing cleanliness and infectious disease monitoring and control. Some minor patient care and assisting veterinary assistants and veterinary technicians may be necessary.
Completion of an accredited training program in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require additional Training, Certifications, or Licensure.
Departmental Required Skills
-Previous kennel experience required.
-Previous small animal handling experience.
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge of Infectious Disease protocols.
