Key Account Manager - KMart
Mattel, Inc. is seeking a Key Account Manager for KMart. This is a field-based position for the Chicago region and will require frequent travel. The Manager, National Accounts will act as a business manager and be responsible for achievement of the overall plan for assigned Mattel brands.
' Evaluate the account financial plans, ensuring the financial plan is aligned with both the company and the account's core strategies.
' Provide clear and accurate direction/input to Customer Business Team (CBT) members, including Retail Service Account Executive, Supply Chain Manager and Customer Administration Reps. Conduit for most communication from Mattel sources to and from Buyer.
' Prepare effective, convincing communication for Buyer.
KEY RESULTS AREAS:
' Develop account plans in concert with company objectives and customer needs
' Determine space, mix, and promotions
' Create Channel Awareness
' Provide accurate and timely forecasting & efficient execution of Marketing Development Funds
' Communicate objectives & strategies to field organizations to maximize account performance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
' Bachelor's degree is required.
' Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in packaged goods, toys, entertainment or mass-market retailer
' Minimum 2 years sales experience preferred
' Experience in a consumer goods environment is required.
' Prior experience selling to national retailers preferred
' Experience in forecasting and sales analysis preferred
' Effective selling skills; persuasiveness, aggressiveness, goal oriented, analytical thinker
' Able to make consistently sound judgments and sort out distractions which might inhibit achievement of objectives
' Proven leadership skills
' Trade Marketing experience a plus, including category management, understanding of planograms, and promotional and advertising planning skills
' Prior Kmart experience preferred
