Description The Manager of Knowledge Management (KM) functions as the leader and champion of the KM team, and ensures that all KM initiatives support and align with the mission and goals of the organization. Serves as the liaison between the business leadership and others involved in KM activities, regardless of any functional or geographic boundaries that may exist.
  • Ensures that Knowledge Management activities align with enterprise vision, mission, and goals
  • Leads the development of a knowledge strategy aligned with the business strategy, and acts as a conduit to upper management
  • Facilitates and drives the KM projects based on governance requirements, participating in the design of the initial KM projects
  • Promotes KM and the use of common approaches across business units
  • Provides KM thought leadership gained through projects, research, and benchmarking activities from both internal and external opportunities
  • Facilitates and drives the development of the enterprise KM toolkit
  • Collaborates and oversees the relationship with IT, and monitors the effectiveness and use of IT tools and systems as they apply to KM and suggest improvements.
  • Works with other KM team business‐unit representatives and business‐unit leadership to establish a common understanding and focus for KM
  • Works with the KM team to identify the knowledge assets critical to enterprise KM
  • Acts as the steward of all KM tools that support organizational goals
  • Seeks out opportunities where knowledge sharing can add value to the enterprise
  • Serves as a model and coach for the rest of the organization as it adopts KM principles and processes
  • Travel required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferably Engineering, Geosciences, Land, or other related Exploration & Production discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience associated with Exploration and Production discipline, preferably with Devon Energy
  • Understanding of Knowledge Management
  • Demonstrated networking and collaboration skills; works effectively with colleagues from other improvement initiatives
  • Creative and self‐motivated with strong problem‐solving skills (thinks outside the box/finds a better box)
  • Strong facilitator, change agent, and communicator
  • Well‐connected and credible across business units
  • Able to think strategically in terms of culture, behavior, business processes, and tools
  • Good appreciation of customer needs at both the operational and strategic level
  • Strong project management oversight and also “hands on” skills as needed
  • Clear and up‐to‐date understanding of the business situation and processes in order to help facilitate the development of future business cases for KM
  • Able to balance good discipline with flexibility to achieve goals efficiently while incorporating evolving levels of organizational knowledge
  • Able to manage differences and bring people together to share knowledge in terms of culture and behavior, business processes, and technological tools
