Position Description:
¿ Support application & business database requirements as part of the Ford Credit Data Architecture team ¿ Develop new data structures in online transaction (OLTP) and data warehouse (OLAP) databases taking into consideration global strategy and data requirements ¿ Develop conceptual, logical & physical data models ¿ Create Database Change Requests and Data Definition Language (DDL) to implement and maintain database structures. ¿ Support database requests in multiple DBMS¿s including DB2, Teradata, Oracle & SQL Server ¿ Perform impact analysis on data structure changes ¿ Define and enforce Ford Credit database standards including SPII & data compliance ¿ Process Ad Hoc SQL requests ¿ Formalize data propagation requests to populate and maintain test environments ¿ Review SQL for potential performance improvements ¿ Work closely with Database Administrators (DBAs) in defining physical database objects ¿ Maintain the integrity of the database by identifying and resolving conflicts concerning the data ¿ Provide on-call support including database change verification ¿ Maintain GDD (Global Data Dictionary) information provided by customer such as column and table descriptions
Skills Required:
¿ Experience in database design with transactional or analytical databases ¿ Experience in DB2, Teradata, Oracle or SQL Server DBMS and knowledge of associated tools ¿ Two years of database application development with an advanced SQL programming background ¿ Strong technical aptitude, able to multi-task and be flexible to respond to changing priorities. ¿ Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
Skills Preferred:
¿ Data Modeling tools such as ERWin or Oracle Designer ¿ Data Modeling or prior DA experience ¿ Team or project leading experience ¿ Technical leadership capabilities
Experience Required:
Experience in database design with transactional or analytical databases ¿ Experience in DB2, Teradata, Oracle or SQL Server DBMS and knowledge of associated tools
Experience Preferred:
¿ COBOL or Java experience ¿ Mainframe TSO and JCL experience
