Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) has an immediate need for a Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist. This position requires knowledge and experience in international donor assistance. Areas of key responsibility include: oversight of knowledge management-related tools and databases, collection/monitoring; administration of marketing materials, coordination of and participation in relevant marketing events; support to Senior Manager of Strategic Communications on various communications initiatives; spearheading knowledge sharing activities; leadership of editorial development process for regular Cardno publication; and support to company business development efforts.
This position reports to the Business Development Director and is located in Arlington, Virginia.
Summary of Position Functions:
Administers all functional aspects of knowledge management, including: collection of qualifications and past performance reports; maintenance of knowledge management qualifications database, client feedback mechanism, eminence event tracker, resource library (-ies); and CPR records; Serves as a point of contact for knowledge management support and knowledge sharing initiatives across the global offices; Manages and disseminates monthly business development e-newsletter; Organizes periodic Brown Bag knowledge sharing events; and Trains and advises staff on knowledge management tools and policies, as needed. Leads editorial process for the Emerging Markets Division's thrice-yearly publication Serves as primary content contact for the North America and Europe regions for Cardno's global publication Supports the production and editing of marketing materials for company website and acts as the primary liaison for Emerging Market Division's web-related content Supports the technical directors and practice directors in the development and update of marketing materials Manages creation and update of materials for marketing trips, events, proposals and other business development initiatives
Master's Degree in communications, English, or related field, or appropriate combination of Bachelor's Degree and relevant professional experience (including field experience) Five (5) years of professional experience in the context of US Government and other donor-funded programs Solid interpersonal, networking and cross-cultural skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex pursuits Ability to establish solid working relationships with clients, program management, technical staff, and diverse staff in various other business areas of the organization Willingness and ability to travel as needed Excellent verbal and written communications skills Knowledge of SharePoint and graphic design skills are a plus, but not a requirement US work authorization required
