The Outlet Server is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. He/she is also responsible for receiving and delivering guests orders and collecting payment.

Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Physical requirements:
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food & beverages.

  • &a mp;n bsp; Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

Essential:
  • &a mp;n bsp; Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Comply at all times with Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Be familiar with the organization of the Restaurant(s), lounges, and Room Service and know the function of each job position.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Pre-bus all tables removing soiled dishes after each course.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S system.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Ensure that tables and side stands are kept stocked, tidy and clean.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Keep all beverages at least ¾ full (coffee, tea, soda, water, and lemonade).
  • &a mp;n bsp; Breakdown trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom according to established standards.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Answer the telephone according to standards.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Consistently upsell food, beverage and promotional items to guests.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations and know how to use them.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment.
  • &a mp;n bsp; 30 minute lunch break.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Attend pre-meal meeting at 5:15pm.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Cross train between Outback/Kook.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Flexible hours in Kook lunch & dinner.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Flexible hours in Outback working special brunch; ie, Thanksgiving.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Keep work area clean and sanitary according to the Board of Health Regulations and HACCP.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Understand proper food handling and rotation (FIFO).
Marginal:
  • &a mp;n bsp; Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • &a mp;n bsp; CARE Certified.
  • &a mp;n bsp; Safe Staff Food Handler Certified.
