Showtime Networks Inc., Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exposure to the cable/entertainment industry. We are looking for college students who are eager to learn and have a passion for pursuing a career in the entertainment arena.
*Assist in the search for available content for all Showtime channels.
*Evaluate available content in writing and learn how to improve his/her oral presentation skills by sharing thoughts on the content in one-on-one discussions with executives in the department.
*Observe and understand the deal-making and negotiation process to pursue and compete for programming content.
*Attend distributor screenings, review distributor catalogs and websites.
*Produce one-page written evaluations on submitted features, series and documentaries.
*Use the database daily while writing evaluations and performing tests to locate errors in the system.
Applicants must have a strong knowledge of film (domestic and foreign) and current U.S. television programming. They must have excellent communication skills (written and oral) and know the fudamentals of MS Office.
Must have the confidence and desire to discuss his/her opinions about the evaluated material with the executives in the department.
The internship program will run for eight weeks, beginning on June 10th and ending on August 2nd. Students will work 9a-6p, Monday through Friday. Students must be entering their Junior or Senior year in the fall.
PLEASE NOTE: The internship program is UNPAID. Applicants MUST obtain college credit , which they will need to work out with their school's adviser. There are NO EXCEPTIONS in regards to the college credit requirement.
