Installs, configures, supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN. Recommends and schedules repairs. Provides end users support for all LAN- based applications. Installs and configures workstations/servers. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.

§ Supports and maintains production applications
§ Processes requests from internal ticketing systems
§ Support the creation, maintenance and implementation of procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed and corrected.
§ Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
§ Communicates and coordinates application schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
§ Prepares and maintains documentation of application and hardware configurations.
§ Assigns, documents, and maintains computer logins, certificates, passwords, and access profiles for software applications, network access, and telecommunications systems.
§ Manages remote client access, dial-in and VPN users.
§ Configures all workstations and server hardware according to organization's standards.
§ Installs upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, software and files services.
§ Diagnoses and repairs desktop and laptop equipment including but not limited to: hard drives, monitors, and printers at end user work stations.
§ Installs security identification and apparatus to computer hardware and peripherals.
§ Installs and maintains various servers.
§ Identifies potential security issues and recommended strategy to ensure site security.
§ Coordinates third-party maintenance for hardware and software.
§ Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources.
§ Performs the installation and maintenance of local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.
§ Provides support and trains users in local area network usage.
§ Reviews deliverables prepared by the clients and management to document project plans
§ Manages day-to-day project and scope changes
§ Coordinates installation of hardware and software by others.
§ Reviews reports, files, and messages to identify instances of possible security infractions.
§ Tests computer systems to evaluate effectiveness of security.
§ Responds to inquiries regarding data and computer security, policies, and procedures.

§ Assists with linking servers to database systems.

§ Typically requires five to ten years related experience, (5 years hands-on experience)

§ Can write jobs, using various scripting languages

§ Expert knowledge of PC hardware and support
§ Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office or like product
§ Expert knowledge of Email systems i.e. Microsoft Exchange
