Train and oversee LC/MS/MS production instrumentation;
Supervise skilled and/or technical employees responsible for routine tasks in LC/MS/MS area;
Coordinate daily production of LC/MS/MS results, including data processing, review and certification;
Oversee daily maintenance of LC/MS/MS instrumentation;
Supervise LC/MS/MS method development, validation and implementation coordinated with R&D;
Maintain close and effective communications with Laboratory Management, R&D and other key areas of internal operations;
Ensure that group compliance with quality standards and safety requirements;
Select, train and develop production personnel;
Maintain department metrics and take appropriate action with individual/team to meet goals and operate within limits;
Actively support organizational initiatives; ensure activities within the group and teams are aligned appropriately;
Implement Policies/Guidelines within the department and communicate relevant information to department employees;
Adhere to confidentiality (HIPAA) requirements (patient files and personal information).
Directly supervise employees of the LC/MS/MS Departments. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Strategic ability to recruit qualified sales staff.
Demonstrated strength with sales closings.
Professional management and training skills to train remote sales staff.

Bachelor's degree (B. S., Chemistry or related field required) from four-year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training in a Forensic or Clinical Toxicology laboratory; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical : Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of capable of performing PC applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skilled with mass spectrometry including LC/MS and LC/MS/MS; ability to troubleshoot instrumentation
Excellent communication skills both oral and written on business and technical issues across multiple levels of the organization;

Demonstrated skill conducting tests in a professional manner;

Thorough knowledge of chemistry, toxicology and analytical instrumentation;
Strong technical background in Analytical Toxicology;
Working knowledge and experience with mass spectrometry including LC/MS and LC/MS/MS.
Proficient with basic computer skills.
