Under general direction, formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Performs
at highest technical level in specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming. Provides technical leadership for intermediate projects and guidance/training for analysts/programmers. Demonstrates thorough understanding of the business/function for which applications are designed.
•Identifies, analyzes, and documents business/technical requirements and systems specifications.
•Creates and performs software coding. Creates and enforces software quality standards.
•Implements/deploys information systems. Evaluates vendors and vendor-supplied applications and deploys/integrates vendor-supplied software.
•Generates suggestions for process/product improvement.
•Communicates status of assigned work to management and follows practices and procedures covered by precedents, standards, or policies.
•Develops an awareness of systems and operating area interrelationships.
•Ensures the efficient development of effective information systems through a variety of duties including generation/presentation of users’ training material, expansion of knowledge applicable to technical platforms and applications, and the maintenance of solid working relationships with business areas.
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree in an Information Systems discipline; or, an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience.
•Seven or more years of experience in IS development/support.
•Proficiency in applicable software development tools, standards, and methodologies including familiarity with Software Quality Assurance tools.
•Strong analytical, task planning, and task management skills and ability to proactively generate innovative solutions.
•Ability to quickly understand industry/organization-specific issues and flexibility in adapting to rapidly-changing business and technical environments.
•Highly effective analytical, decision-making, and written/verbal communication skills.
•Ability to investigate complex business problems, develop effective recommendations, negotiate and/or present solutions, and resolve problems in a highly professional and tactful manner.
•Highly organized and able to set priorities effectively.
•Ability to access, enter, modify, and retrieve data on a PC.
•Ability to read, write, and speak the English language and compose correspondence.
•Visual acuity sufficient to accurately review and proof information.
•Auditory ability to use a telephone.
