Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Education or Experience
- Travels between buildings to monitor employee performance. - Performs Monitor duties to cover staff shortages as needed. - Interviews, hires, trains and evaluates performance for Monitors. - Handles corrective disciplinary issues confidentially with employees. - Schedules staff and approves time off requests, tracks attendance, etc. - Acts as a liaison with Residence Life staff. - Report any/all suspicious activity to Campus Safety officers. - Performs related duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. At least two years of security or monitor experience; some leadership or supervisory experience is required.
Certificates, credentials or licenses required to perform the duties of this position:
Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to diplomatically and confidentially handle sensitive issues. Must be acutely aware of surroundings to identify areas/issues of possible concern. Escalates issues if necessary and requests safety/police officer presence as required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position typically works Thursday through Monday from 9:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. during the academic school year when classes are in session, this position will work an adjusted schedule over the summer and for on-campus conferences.
