FULL TIME LEAD MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST
NEEDED AT FLAGSTAFF MEDICAL CENTER
As a Lead Medical Lab Scientist you will perform laboratory test on blood, urine, body fluids and other specimens to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. You need to be competent in hematology, serology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, blood banking and basic microbiology.
In this role you will be responsible for the supervision of lab assistants and staff medical technologists in overseeing the daily workflow, including but not limited to assigning personnel, troubleshooting equipment issues, reviewing quality control, scheduling of personnel, and assist the managers with regulatory review of procedures and proficiency testing as requested. Assesses the clerical and technical needs of the medical laboratory scientist II's and assists them in accomplishing their duties and goals. Implements and monitors quality management and process improvement activities. Actively leads and/or participates in process improvement activities and other duties as assigned.
* Bachelors Degree in medical technology or chemical, physical or biological science and 1 year training in high complexity testing or qualifies as a General Supervisor under CLIA required
* 3-5 years in the field of medical laboratory science in an acute care facility required.
* MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required
* Qualifies as a General Supervisor according to CLIA guidelines.
