Job Description:
The Roll Excellence LEAN Six Sigma Manager will work
with our operating companies on continuous improvement
projects and initiatives to drive operational excellence
and effectiveness to improve performance and maximize
value. The Roll Excellence team collaborates with the
various Business Units to drive Operational Excellence
in order to deliver financial benefits, utilizing Lean
principles. Areas of focus include: Reliability,
Production, Production Control, Maintenance &
Reliability, Quality, HR/Culture and Management
Infrastructure.
Responsibilities are critically important and extremely

visible:
  • Provide thought leadership in developing practical
solutions to complex analytical problems
  • Interface directly with operating company presidents
and senior management
  • Act as a driving force behind critical strategic,
operational and organizational initiatives
  • Provide insight through analytics and drive
continuous improvement implementation efforts
  • Position designed to lead to management role within
an operating company
This role reports to the Global Director of Roll
Excellence.
Travel requirements are mostly within California, though
we also have operations in Oregon, Texas, Europe and
Fiji. The nature of this work requires being on site
implementing work and working side-by-side with
operations up to four days per week. Candidate must be
willing to relocate to the Central Valley in California.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably
Industrial Engineering) or related field.
  • Significant operations role (Continuous Improvement
Manager, Operations Manager, project or program
manager, quality manager, production control)
  • Ten or more years of experience in a manufacturing
environment, to include at least 5 years in
developing and implementing supply chain,
production, and process improvement initiatives
within the context of Lean.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing
enterprise wide change initiatives.

Desirable Experience:
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing
principles
  • Additional hands-on operations experience
  • Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Cross-functional knowledge, especially finance, is a
plus
Required Skills
  • Lean Certification or Six Sigma background (yellow
belt / green belt)
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both
quantitative and qualitative)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, along with the
ability to communicate effectively and maintain
credibility across all levels in the business

  • Demonstrated passion for solving problems and
operational excellence
  • Focused, organized, results-oriented individual
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and within
a team
  • Ability to influence Business Units without direct
control
  • Successful candidate will be a self-motivated
individual, able to achieve high impact in an
unstructured environment
