SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support to the Legal Department, reporting to the General Counsel.
Sort and distribute mail.
Perform word processing functions, including dictation
Accurately prepare memos, briefs, pleadings and any other correspondence in a timely manner.
Accurately maintain legal files
Schedule meetings and makes travel arrangements as requested.
Assist with legal expense review and sends bills to appropriate Department Managers for review/approval.
Work on responses to various legal matters, including data requests, subpoenas, levies and garnishments
Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors and other corporate minutes and records
Maintain calendars and reminders for compliance with tasks and deadlines
Work on special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by Legal Department personnel.
High School diploma or equivalent; Business School Certificate, college classes or degree desired
minimum 5 years secretarial experience in the legal field required; brokerage firm or banking experience desired
Strong interpersonal skills
Speed and accuracy in all tasks
Typing and Dictation skills
Experience in legal matters
Knowledge of securities and banking industry preferred
Must have general knowledge of office procedures, good grammar and posess telephone/office etiquette
